Illness Control Principles
Illness control uses the absence definitions by certain rules defined in this purpose to export specific reports in Astrow Web. Employees are allowed a number of medical days without a doctor certificate according to those rules.
The medical absence of one or more working days without a medical certificate is defined as SC (Self Certificate) in the application and the medical absence with a medical certificate will be DC (Doctor Certificate). A medical certificate for more than 16 days will be defined in the application as DC16.
All illness absences will be added by the users with rights of operation (hr master, hr, managers or employees with self-operating permissions). Illness absences cannot be added if there is another absence linked to a holiday defined in the same period. Absences requests in Astrow Web are not permitted with illness absences (self-certificate, doctor certificate and doctor certificate > 16). If there is an absence request already in the level authorization process and an illness absence is also added in that period, the system will reject the absence request.
All illness reports will be defined and generated in Astrow Web.
There are two categories of illness rules which can be applied to employees, Basic and Exception for IA. Here are the rules for them:
I. Basic
-
Maximum 3 days of SC absence in 16 calendar days interval (consecutive or not).
-
Consecutive SC absences are counted as one incident.
-
Non-consecutive SC absences are counted as different incidents.
-
The 16 calendar days start counting with the first SC. On day 17, the 4th SC absence can be added, which is considered the 1st day from the second interval.

-
Maximum 4 incidents (each incident can have a maximum of 3 SC absences) can be added in one year.
II. Exception for IA
-
Never have more than 8 consecutive SC absences.
-
Maximum 24 SC absences in 12 months.
-
If a group of consecutive non-working days has an SC in the day before and another SC at the end, then all the non-working days are counted as illness days.

-
Maximum 8 SC absences (consecutive or not) can be added in a 16 days interval.
-
If all the maximum allowed 8 SC absences are added in a 16 calendar days interval, then 16 days must pass before a new SC absence can be added; the interval of 16 days where no SC can be added starts with the first working day after the last SC absence.

If less than 8 SC absences are added in 16 days interval, then a new SC can be added starting with day 17 (there is no need to wait for 16 days anymore).
