About Licenses

Astrow is a time and attendance flexible application, adaptable to different needs of its customers through its main licenses, VT, ESS and MSS, roles and customable permissions.

MSS, Management Self Service, is the management license; it ensures for managers the full control of the time and attendance of their teams in Team Manager (add/edit/delete bookings and absences for your team, bookings MC, add notes, change day programs, change cycles, view timecards, holiday cards, anomalies and generate attendance reports of your employees in Astrow Web) and for HR personnel full configuration permissions and administration of all employees.

VT license uses Virtual Terminal for real time bookings, as an evolution from a traditional time clock to a computer controlled terminal, through an internet browser. VT license is used by employees to make real time bookings directly from their computer.

Mobile VT license is a variation of VT, using mobile phones for bookings, through an internet browser on mobile operation systems. It was developed for situations when employees’ tasks are assigned in changeable locations, e.g. sales or other outsourced services, satellites offices, home working employees, leasing personnel etc.

ESS license, Employee Self Service, enables the possibility of sending absence requests to superiors, view personal timecard and holiday card, also team scheduled absences when sending an absence request. It also enables the authorizers to authorize absences of other persons. ESS license is used for employees to manage their own time and attendance and for authorizers to approve the absence requests of others.

Licensing the product will require at least 1 MSS. This is the core license and will be automatically assigned with the role of HR. The master user HR will have full configuration rights for all employees, thus also the role of Manager. It will be able to act as a Manager for the system group All employees. All employees is a system group which will be automatically updated whenever adding or deleting an employee in the system. All employees cannot be assigned to other users; in case there are more HR persons entitled to operate for all employees, we advice you to create new groups and include all employees manually.

Extra licenses for PIP, Counters export and Detailed log enable the possibilities of PIP views, payroll exports and log operations (see table below for more details).

Bio distribution is a license for distributing the templates on the terminals (see New/Edit iT30/iT300 and iT30/iT300 Terminal Commands for more details).

Morpho connection license enables the usage of Sagem Morpho terminals (see New/Edit Morpho 500+/200/J and Morpho 200/J/500+ Commands for more details). Please note that this is not possbile without a Bio distribution license.

File terminal is a license to import in / export from Astrow bookings / data (see New/Edit File Terminal for more details).

Data collection is a license to insert directly from the terminal (iT30/iT300) the number of operations of a type defined done during a working day, to be included in daily or periodic reports (see Data Collection for more information).

Illness Control is an extra module of reports developed for Norwegian market. Please contact the sales department for more details about this license.

Terminal Astrow is a mobile application that transforms a mobile phone into an Astrow data collection terminal. A mobile can be used instead of any terminal in order to make bookings. Employees can make bookings by PIN, employee number or by scanning a barcode / QRCode (see Bookings with Mobile Terminal). To define a mobile terminal, see New/Edit Mobile Terminal.

Activity Astrow is a mobile application that registers the time spent by a manager on performing some activities on a number of employees, e.g. doing trainings, presentations, etc. Settings and reports will be done in Astrow Web interface (see Activity Definitions and Activity Management in Astrow Web). Starting and ending the time for employees' activities will always be made with Activity Astrow mobile application (see Activity Mobile Application).

Pocket PIP is a mobile application to display the PIP status of employees. It also includes a roll call checking list in case of emergencies (see Pocket PIP).
