Groups are defined for easy operations with employees and schemes of authorization (ESS) or absence add by managers (MSS). There are two types of groups that can be defined in Astrow Web: absence groups and employees groups.
Absence groups are linked to employees, and they are used with ESS license for adding/approving absence requests or with MSS license for adding absences per teams.
Employee groups correspond to work teams or projects. They are used in team views and time and attendance management operations. They can also be linked to other employee definitions.
Please note that departments are different from groups. If you don't need to differentiate between them, you can anytime import the departments in groups (see Employee groups - Add, Edit and Delete an Employee Group). Groups are used in all linked definitions, while departments are only for visualization and department registration.
