To define levels of authorization, you need first to define the absence request groups. Go to Configuration-Groups - tab Absence groups and click . Define the group as type Absence request group:

In tab Absences, first select the options Selected to enable the definition. Then, select Use for request:

Absences to be included in the Absence request group can have their own authorization scheme and settings:
Authorization scheme: Here you will select the authorization scheme the absence in this group linked to employees will go through. Absence requests can go through different authorization schemes with different level of authorizations. To define authorization schemes, go to Configuration - Authorization (see Add, Edit and Delete Authorization Scheme for more information).

Requests file: Select if the absence request requires a document to be attached (e.g. medical holiday or technical document).
Self add absence: Select if the absence can be self added by trusted employees (with permission Self Edit Absences).
Use for request: Select if the absence is used for the absence request.
In tab Employees, select the employees/group of employees linked to the absence group (see Link Employees to an Absence Request for more details).
